Many of Pipetech’s pigging products are available in different durometers, such as 60, 70 or 80. These numbers refer to the hardness of the material. Many pigs are manufactured with polyurethane, which usually has a durometer of between 60 and 90.

Each durometer serves a different purpose. A durometer in the low 60s, for example, is soft and pliable and can be used in non-steel pipielines. By contrast, a pig with a durometer in the 90s is very hard with almost no flexibility.
